Metabolic

How can you tell if something is alive? If something is living, it grows, adapts, reacts, reproduces, evolves, and metabolizes. While these are all important, we will focus on the last part. Metabolism is a life-sustaining chemical reaction where food becomes energy. But metabolism doesn't just refer to digestion. It also refers to the transportation of energy to different cells in the body.

People with a high metabolism burn energy faster. People with a low metabolism burn energy slower. Because of this, different people have different issues with their metabolism. Some people struggle to gain weight and some struggle to lose weight.

The metabolism is susceptible to metabolic diseases. Because hormones regulate digestion, there is a connection between metabolic diseases and hormones. Hormones send out messages to your digestive system. It tells your body how fast to digest, how much to eat, and when to eat. If you are having issues with your metabolism, changing your diet is a good place to start.
