10. An Easy Grilled Mackerel Recipe

Mackerel is inexpensive and easy to make. A little bit of preparation goes a long way. You can marinate these for longer for a more complex flavor, but if you're in a rush, you can marinate them for a mere 30 minutes. While you prep the fish, preheat your grill.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Whole Mackerel about 2 pounds total weight
  • 4 Lemons
  • 2 Tablespoons of minced Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons of minced Ginger
  • 2 Teaspoons of minced Basil
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 2 Teaspoons of Chicken Stock Powder

Method:

  • Rinse the fish and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Make 3 diagonal cuts to the bone on each side of the Mackerel.
  • Slice three lemons thinly. Squeeze the last lemon onto the fish.
  • In a separate bowl mix the aromatics and olive oil.
  • Rub mixture evenly on each side of the fish.
  • Place fish in a grill basket and grill on medium heat for 7 minutes on each side.
  • Enjoy!
