2. Fatigue

One of the first signs of a vitamin B12 deficiency is frequent mental and physical fatigue, even after a full night’s sleep. If someone consistently gets eight hours of rest but still struggles to stay awake during the day, a lack of B12 could be the cause. As with muscle fatigue, too little oxygen in the red blood cells can lead to ongoing tiredness.
