2. Muscle rigidity

Parkinson’s often causes muscle rigidity, or stiffness that doesn’t go away even at rest. It can affect the shoulders, neck, limbs, or trunk and may limit range of motion, sometimes causing pain or discomfort. A common sign is reduced arm swinging while walking, which results from this persistent muscle tension.
