A person can still eat well on a gout diet. Here is an example of what one day on this diet could look like:

  • Breakfast - whole-grain cereal with skim milk, fresh fruit, water, and coffee
  • Lunch - roast chicken sandwich on whole-grain bread, vegetables roasted in olive oil, and water.
  • For a snack, choose cherries and water.
  • Dinner - poached fish with steamed vegetables and whole grain rice or pasta.
  • For dessert, choose yogurt with fresh pineapple or melon.
