5. Mifamurtide medication

For a particular bone cancer called osteosarcoma, which usually affects children and young adults, a medication called Mifamurtide can be administered in combination with chemotherapy. A course of Mifamurtide will begin after surgery, to help prevent cancer returning. This drug works by stimulating the immune system to produce particular specialized cells, which kill the cancer cells.
