A new study conducted by Antonio Gonzalez, from the University of California San Diego, indicates that migraines are more prevalent in migraine sufferers who had higher levels of gut bacteria responsible for processing nitrates. This could also explain why certain foods, like chocolate, are thought to act as migraine triggers.
