18. Support for Cops
In 1981, two real-life officers were critically injured in the line of duty. The cast and crew of CHiPs gave blood to help the cops--one of whom survived. The show earned itself a reputation for promoting law enforcement and safety. Of course, show scenes seldom showed characters wearing seatbelts!
