11. Aloe Vera or Soothing Gel

When irritation flares up, a cooling gel can make all the difference. Aloe vera is especially helpful—it’s anti-inflammatory, gentle, and easy to find at any drugstore.

Look for a pure, fragrance-free gel and apply a small amount with clean hands or a cotton pad. Just make sure it’s for external use only; aloe isn’t meant to be applied internally.

It won’t cure hemorrhoids, but it can definitely take the sting out of your day.
