Less common symptoms of hepatitis A include dark urine or clay-colored bowel movements. The liver infection can also cause joint pain, intense itching, or jaundice, which is characterized by yellowing of the skin and the whites of your eyes. These signs might indicate a severe illness and can last several months opposed to a few weeks like the more common and mild symptoms of hepatitis A.
