9. Refined Carbs

Foods such as white bread and white rice have very little actual nutritional content. What they do have is an abundance of refined carbohydrates. These can lead to increased uric acid development, which may lead to gout. By substituting whole grain bread or brown rice, a person with gout can dramatically reduce the risk associated with these foods.
