Some supplements are proven to alleviate reflux. Curcumin, the substance that gives turmeric its yellow color, has been shown to protect the esophagus against the damaging effects of reflux.

Recent studies show that aloe vera juice may also be an effective treatment for reflux. Other research indicates probiotics may relieve acid reflux, but more studies are needed.
