The basal metabolic rate (BMR) is responsible for how quickly your body processes nutrients and stores deposits of glucose and fat.

In 2016, another study in South Korea examined the effects of green coffee beans in obese mice. The Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine concluded green coffee beans, "significantly decreased body weight gain, liver weight, and white adipose tissue weights." The test also showed ingredients in the beans regulated hormones such as adiponectin and leptin.
