Strengthening your quadriceps will support your patella, helping it to move correctly when bending and straightening your knees.
To perform the straight leg lift, lie flat on the ground, where you feel comfortable and firmly supported. Bend one leg up to a 90-degree angle, placing your foot flat on the floor. Raise your other leg a few inches off the ground and hold it there for 5-10 seconds. Slowly lower your leg to the floor, taking a few seconds before you come to rest. Complete this exercise around 5-10 times before switching legs and following the same steps.
